In 1954, F. Calvin (Cal) Louderback and a few of his associates who had gained their publishing experience at Greater Philadelphia magazine, decided that the Garden State needed a magazine that would, as they said, "report and interpret the big news being made by businessmen (today, businesspersons) in New Jersey." It was their conviction that "business and industrial news could and should make interesting reading."
That year, New Jersey Publications, on which Louderback served as vice president, published the first issue of New Jersey - Business magazine, with its tagline, "The Magazine of Industry and Business." The magazine's editorial and advertising offices were located at 744 Broad ...
