Northern Ireland school nurses who are being paid nearly L3000 less than colleagues elsewhere in the UK have decided to launch a campaign to fight for fair pay.
The CPHVA has decided to pursue collective pay claims for all school nurses in Northern Ireland, most of whom are on Grade E in the national pay scale. The aim is to persuade the 10 community health and social services trusts to upgrade school nurses to Grade F - the rate other UK school nurses enjoy.
At present the pay for Northern Ireland school nurses is `grossly unfair', says the CPHVA, which represents most of Northern Ireland's 100 school nurses.
