I read with interest the articles by Dr. Ben-David et al.1 and Dr. Choi et al.2 Both authors suggest using low-dose spinal anesthesia with bupivacaine (5 and 8 mg, respectively) and fentanyl (25 and 10 (mu)g, respectively) for cesarean delivery. Low-dose spinal anesthesia has enjoyed a resurgence in the last few years because of its decreased sensory level (unlike the high thoracic and cervical dermatomes sometimes blocked with 12 to 15 mg of bupivacaine) and decreased incidence of hypotension.
