After years of cramped quarters, leaky roofing and outdated utilities, the city of Biloxi made the decision to build a new facility large enough to provide for growth.
The existing building was a conversion from an old school back in the 80's and was satisfactory for a while, but soon became insufficient for use as a safety center as the city grew in size with the introduction of the gaming industry. With gaming came an increase in population as well as increased demand for public safety and courts.
After careful planning and interaction between the design team and the mayor, department heads were brought in to further refine the concepts.
