Clarke County has found a prospect for its new business park. While a number of residents commute eastward, the first occupant of the Clark County Industrial Park is going west, mainly because a number of its employees live in the northern Shenandoah Valley.
"We found that was closer to a central point for our workers, many of whom live in Frederick, Clarke and Loudoun counties," said Todd Saunders, president of Champion Iron Works, Inc. Along with Skip Jackson and Bob Barley, he is one of the owners of the steel fabricator that will move from leased space in Purcellville, Va., to Clarke County.
