Lauderdale Lakes was swimming with multicultural Caribbean flavor last weekend as the Greater Caribbean Chamber of Commerce hosted the city's 10th Annual Unifest at Vincent Torres Memorial Park.
The two-day festival lived up to its reputation, drawing thousands to sample spicy dishes, listen to up-tempo music, and participate in a number of events and games.
"We have been averaging 10,000 to 15,000 people over the two-day course of the event. Most of our participants don't come until after 7 p.m., because they know the major acts come on late," said City Commissioner Hazelle Rogers, who also is president of the Broward League of Cities.
