Obsidian Capital buys rubber firm in Mississippi

Indianapolis-based Obsidian Capital Co. has bought U.S. Rubber Reclaiming Inc., a butyl rubber reclaimer in Vicksburg, Miss. Terms of the deal were not released.

U.S. Rubber is a major source of reclaimed butyl rubber internationally, and is a single-source reclaimed butyl rubber supplier to most of the U.S. tire industry.

Obsidian bought the company from former owner Beurt SerVass, a local businessman. Timothy S. Durham, managing member of Obsidian, will serve as chairman of U.S. Rubber.
