Singapore - It looks as though Asian patients must keep waiting for a reliable treatment for acne scarring. According to a study presented at the American Society for Laser Medicine and Surgery's annual meeting, the 1,450-nm Smoothbeam laser (Candela) delivers only marginal to moderate improvements.

In the United States, cosmetic surgeons frequently use this laser to treat photoaging. Patients in Singapore, China, and other Southeastern Asian nations, however, tend to dislike tanning and intense exposure to sunlight.
