It is indeed a pleasure and an honor to review the "new Potter." For pathologists like me who started learning pediatric pathology in the 1980s, the 1975 single-volume, 677-page 3rd edition of Potter and Craig's Pathology of the Fetus and Infant was the ultimate source of information. In the years following its publication, there has been an exponential increase in the understanding of the molecular basis of numerous diseases as well as a corresponding growth in the diagnostic tools and techniques available to pathologists.
