Clint Wiley, a principal in New Frontiers Communications in Hagerstown, is one of the original telecom entrepreneurs in the Quad-state region who has survived the ups and downs of the rapidly changing industry.

Wiley began selling Internet services in 1995, then plunged into the competitive local exchange carrier (CLEC) business in 1999, setting up a central office on Summit Street in downtown Hagerstown to complement an office on Longmeadow Road in the northern part of the city. Using the slogan, "Now you have a choice," Wiley's goal was to reduce the charges he was paying to Bell Atlantic (now Verizon) and offer local and long distance service to business and residential customers.
