Article: United Way of Broward County partners with Children's Services Council to help with urgent need for food; Partnership results in $30,000 directed to local food pantries

In response to an urgent need for food and essential items as a result of Hurricane Frances, United Way of Broward County announced an emergency donation of $10,000 to the Cooperative Feeding Program. The donation will allow the agency to purchase hurricane food supplies that are urgently needed for thousands of Broward County residents.

"Many residents in Broward are still without power and people have been turning to food pantries more than ever, explained Doug Weber, President and CEO, United Way of Broward County. "We realized we had to do something quickly to help as many residents as possible."
