Article: Soul shaping borne of personal experience

When I was asked to reflect on the soul of family and consumer sciences for this issue, I did what any self-respecting academic would do in these times-I did a web search with my computer For me, "soul" is a term that defies literal definition. Even Webster seems to struggle, suggesting that "soul" includes a "moving spirit," an "animating principle," and even a person's "total self." Plug it into a search engine and "soul" nets more than four million hits, most of which refer to music, food, or the ubiquitous books that prescribe chicken soup for what ails us. Aha! A nutrition link! Maybe not.
Perhaps a literature review would yield more leads that are useful. Aristotle apparently faced ...
