Quiet Cockpit

I just read the article "The Sound Of Silence" [September 2004 ] by Katherine Diaz. It was about a deaf young man who is determined to fly and earn his private pilot's license. I'm quite hard of hearing and was pretty concerned about passing my medical exam and not being able to take flying lessons. Then I read this story about Brenton Alien being deaf and taking flying lessons with his hearing instructor, Seth Higgins, and now, I'm looking into being a future pilot myself.

Thanks to Plane & Pilot Magazine for printing this article. It lifted my spirits, and I'll be looking forward to more great reading in your magazine.
