Reforming Europe's Higher Education Area: As the Fog Clears, New Obstacles Emerge

The reforming of Europe's higher education area has had to navigate past a number of impediments-and more are revealed each day. From education ministers to academics, all individuals who hold a stake have, their work cut out for them as the next checkpoint nears in May 2005.
While Europe's education mrmsters move forward with the ambitious plan to create a European Higher Education Area (EHEA) by 2010, agreed upon reforms have yet to reach most of the grassroots representatives who are supposed to implement and give those reforms meaning. Engaging the academics throughout European universities is the next critical step in making the goals of the Bologna process become a reality.
