The Pine Bluff branch of the NAACP has been working since 1919 to empower the Arkansas city's African American residents. Today, as the presence of high-tech and big business is bolstering the city's economy, the NAACP branch is taking measured steps to make a lasting effect on the community.
Pine Bluff, with a population of 55,000, has become a regional financial hub, home to businesses ranging from security firms to manufacturers of electric transformers.
