Matching Protective Apparel to Electric Arc Flash Hazards

In early 2004, the standard that offers comprehensive electrical safety requirements for employee workplaces was revised. First introduced in 1979, National Fire Protection Assn. (NFPA) 70E Standard offers detailed instructions on how to protect workers from possible harm due to exposure to electrical systems and devices. This nearly 100-page standard applies to worker job tasks such as installing electrical conductors or other electrical equipment, or connecting those installations to a supply of electricity.
