With help from an $87,000 grant from the state Department of Agriculture, a research team at Perm State University is pursuing its mission to solve the problems of waste plastics, "especially on the farm," says James Garthe, an agricultural engineering instructor. "We want to get energy from waste products, and plastics have energy we can recover. Properly done, plastics can supplement coal in coal fired boilers.
