Building food security: Dietitians as leaders in food policy development

At the 1996 World Food Security Summit in Rome, Canada, along with 186 other countries, committed itself to reduce by half the number of undernourished people no later than the year 2015. In response, our government developed Canada's Action Plan on Food Security. Unfortunately, little has been done to implement the plan, and we have fallen further behind in reducing the number of hungry people in Canada. Why?
