Super Street * '67 Mustang
The '67 Mustang that Gerry Epp drove at the Checker Schuck's Kragen NHRA Nationals in Phoenix is the same car that he drove to victory in Super Street at the 2003 ACDelco Las Yogas NHRA Nationals.
Epp, 58, owner of an equipment rental company in Abbotsford, B.C., traveled 1,800 miles to race in Phoenix, where he went three rounds before losing to eventual winner Mark Yeager in a double-breakout race despite leaving first by four-hundredths. Epp stayed for the divisional event the following weekend and went four rounds.
