Corpora amylacea are laminated luminal secretions that are commonly present in prostatic glands and increase in prevalence with advancing age (Figure). They are present in 25% of men as early as the third to fifth decades of life and are thought to be related to epithelial cell desquamation and degeneration.1,2
Originally, the word nebula referred to almost any extended astronomical object (other than planets and comets). The etymological root of nebula is cloud.
