Heather Jessop (left), a teacher with the Peel District School Board, and Rachelle North, a teacher with the Halton District School Board, are two of the authors of the body image curriculum. They have been training teachers across Ontario in how to deliver the body image curriculum.
The body image project began in 2001, when the Elementary Teachers' Federation of Ontario commissioned a major research study on body image. The research was led by June Larkin, program director of the Equity Studies Centre at the University of Toronto's Institute for Women's Studies and Gender Studies, and Carla Rice, a clinical program specialist at Sunnybrook and Women's College Hospital's Regional Women's ...
