Article: New East End Shop 'n Save called 'investment in urban Pittsburgh'

There was much excitement surrounding the opening of a new concept Shop 'n Save grocery store in East Liberty, especially in the deli department.

In addition to rows of neatly arranged meats and cheeses, behind the 68-foot deli counter can be found Wayne Penn, an employee who is thrilled to work at the new prototype store.

During a March 11 private party celebrating the grand opening of the store, Penn smiled broadly as he talked about the deli's selection, particularly the Applegate Farms brand, which produces meat that is free of antibiotics, nitrates and nitrites.
