Great Yarmouth, England-based Gardline Marine Sciences Ltd. (GMSL) recently announced the upgrade of its current fleet of ships with the purchase of the world's largest motor-powered trimaran-QinetiQ's triple-hull research vessel, R/V Triton.
GMSL will be responsible for Triton's activities and anticipates that, following conversion work early this year, the vessel will commence hydrographic survey work for the U.K. Civil Hydrography Programme (CHP). The program will commence in the U.K. Western Approaches on behalf of GMSL's client, the government agency responsible for safety of navigation and CHP sponsor, the Maritime and Coastguard Agency (MCA).
