Rising from the desert sands, Dubai Internet City (DIC) is seen as the UAE's answer to Silicon Valley.America's Internet capital. DIC is the first complete Information Technology and Telecommunications (IT) centre in the world to be built inside a free trade zone. Struggling to become the information technology centre in the region, Dubai created DIC to lure international technology companies to the UAE - and it's working.
Giants such as Cisco, Compaq, IBM, Intel, Microsoft, Oracle, some of the 200 companies already licensed in the DIC, are moving their regional headquarters and projects to this newly established Internet City. The ability to gather so many firms ...
