Article: NWU requests meeting with Company

THE NATIONAL Workers Union (NWU) says it will be requesting a meeting with the management of the Jamaica Flour Mills to discuss when the company would be reinstating the three employers that were made redundant in 1999.

Two weeks ago, the United Kingdom Privy Council had upheld a Jamaican Court of Appeal ruling last year that the three JFM employers were unjustifiably dismissed and should be reinstated.

Clive Dobson, NWU president told The Weekly Gleaner that the union would be sending a letter on Tuesday to seek audience with the company to find out when they would be implementing the award made by the UK-based Court.
