WOODHUE, Ltd. in Wrightstown, New Jersey opened the doors of its composting facility in 1980. Located on 156 acres, much of it surrounded by a military base, protected wetlands and agricultural land, Woodhue originally was permitted by the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) to accept and compost food processing residuals, and by the mid-1980s, was taking 35,000 cubic yards (cy)/year of feedstocks.
