Article: Infrared lasers preferred for acne, scar treatment

Orlando - Laser and light therapy are becoming viable options for refractive acne and related scarring, says Thomas Rohrer, M.D., who prefers infrared lasers over other available devices.

"If topical and oral medications do not clear their acne or if patients have acne scars, this can be a fantastic treatment for them," says Dr. Rohrer, who presented a seminar on various laser and light therapies at the recent American Society for Laser Medicine and Surgery meeting here.
