Coater and sizer orders keep on rolling in
THE TWELVE MONTHS since our last coating and sizing survey have seen a slew of projects come to fruition and a stack of orders to keep the suppliers busy.
On the coating side, August Koehler contracted Voith Paper to rebuild PM 1 at its Kehl mill in Germany last December. The paper machine produces online, pre-coated carbonless copy paper, which is then further converted on CM 1, a coating machine equipped with a DF Coater (curtain coaler). The supplier replaced the previous pre-coat coaler with a SpeedSizer unit with Airturn to improve web run and drying capacity, as well as modifying other parts of the PM.
