Integration and Synergy of Side Scan Sonar and Multibeam Sonar
An integrated hydro-acoustic survey scheme for mapping sea-bottom ecology is discussed in this article, with the proposed method enabling the sea-bottom geology and ecology to be mapped more economically.
As the importance of sea-bottom ecology mapping increases, the need for an efficient mapping method has also increased. One solution is to use multibeam sonar to map seagrass beds. By using multibeam sonar, the 3D distribution of seagrass beds can be mapped.
