It's e-learning, Jim, but not as we know it

One of the original Star Trek's favourite clichés can now be applied to e-learning.

Maybe they need to get out more but, for some time, there has been a popular game wherever e-learning people gather: to name your top 20 e-learning gurus. Even when that is revised to naming your top ten e-learning champions, the conversation quickly falters. There don't seem to be that many - at least not enough that are well known.

Maybe the e.learning age/eLearning Network E-learning Awards will change all that when the winners are announced in the autumn. Or maybe the nature of e-learning is changing.
