To most people, a Whip Creamer might be who spoons on a dessert topping, the Red Baron is a World War I flying ace, and a python is a deadly snake, but to some of us, these terms mean something else, something much more special. Kids from the 1960s - especially car nuts like me - can recall all too easily that those were the names of popular hot Wheels cars. The Jack Rabbit Special, Deora, Spittin' Image, Beatnik Bandit, Twinmill, Mod Quad, Swingin' Wing, Peepin' Bomb ... ah, what memories. Yards of orange track, purple connectors, loops, jumps, and, of course, "the Snake" and "the Mongoose" dueling it out on the plastic quarter-mile.
All of this probably goes a long way toward explaining ...
