Rep beginnings pay off for manufacturer

Starting his career as an independent representative has served one manufacturer especially well. Jon Sherman maintains that his start as a rep in the automotive aftermarket prepared him not only for a career on the manufacturing side, but also for effectively working with his nationwide rep network.

Today Sherman is the vice president of sales and marketing for MANA associate member TR Industries, Inc., South Gate, California, a manufacturer of consumer brand chemicals, household, kitchen, bath, marine, automotive, cleaners, polishers and waxes. The products are sold to the plumbing, marine, RV markets and some OEMs, Sherman works with a national network of approximately 80 reps.
