Fort Wayne-based merchandise manufacturer Vera Bradley will begin construction on a new corporate headquarters southwest of Fort Wayne this fall.
The company, which designs, manufactures and ships quilted handbags, luggage and accessories, entered into an agreement to purchase more than 70 acres on Zubrick Road, near the General Motors plant at the I-69/I-469 interchange. Vera Bradley plans to build a 316,000-square-foot complex, nearly three times the size of its current operations spread out over three different buildings on Fort Wayne's north side. The company expects the new complex to be ready by late 2006.
