Article: Dusty Baker keeps the faith for Cubs' wild card chances

As the Cubs sink deeper into the National League Central Division and farther out of the wild card race, manager Dusty Baker remains as calm as ever. As rumors swirl around him about his possible firing, he chews on his famous toothpick and plays a pre-game of catch with his son, Darren.

"I really don't let all that kind of stuff bother me," Baker told the Defender. "Life is too short to worry about the things you can't control."

At the moment, Baker's main focus is on getting his struggling team back on track. Following a disappointing 1-5 road trip to Philadelphia and New York last week, the Cubs are doing a free fall. They returned home to Wrigley Field Monday night, only to get blasted ...
