Article: Reconstructionists publishing children's siddur

The Reconstructionist Press is issuing a new children's prayer book, Siddur Kol Hano'ar: Voice of Children.

The 96-page, hardcover siddur, which is intended for children 59, will present stories from Jewish sources and folklore to introduce sections in the service.

"I have always believed, and research confirms, that children have an innate spirituality," says Rabbi Sandy Sasso, co-author of the book. "Our responsibility is to nurture it."

Rabbi Jeffrey Schein, the other author, concurs. "Kids have an amazing capacity for imagination," he says. "They have an eagerness to talk about God."
