Would you gladly die for Brad Pitt or Julia Roberts? Or rob a bank if asked to by Russell Crowe or Britney Spears? If you had $1,000 to spare, would you use it to buy a toilet seat once owned by Michael Jackson? Do you "lose it" when Jennifer Lopez warbles or Jack Nicholson does that eyebrow thing?
No? Well, millions of people would answer Yes. And now this sycophantic behaviour has a name. It's called "celebrity worship syndrome" (CWS), an obsessive-addictive disorder, affecting males and females alike. And it is of growing concern to mental health professionals.
