The 80-year-old theater at the Eastman School of Music gets a $5.1 million overhaul.

When faced with the need to renovate an 80-year-old Rochester, New York, landmark, the staff of the Eastman School of Music had to be concerned not only with their own desires, but also with those of the local community. Ron Stackman, stage manager for the Eastman Theatre, explains, "The theater is kind of the jewel of the city. People have a real love for this building, so we couldn't change it drastically."
