If it takes a tough man to make a tender chicken, then does it take a tender man to make a tough sock? How about a darn tough sock? For the answer, look at Ric Cabot, 40, the man leading Cabot Hosiery Mills, Inc of Northfield into the future with a brand of athletic socks that he created and calls Darn Tough, "the best sock in the world right now."
Thanks to Cabot, Darn Tough is going against so many American trends that its hard to keep track. First, it's harder and harder to find manufacturing of any kind done in the US today. And finding plants that are expanding in Vermont, as elsewhere nationally, is rare.
