Thirteen years ago, the late Loren elle White was leading The State Journal as its general manager. Instrumental in ushering the newspaper through its formative years, Lorenelle had become aware that many West Virginians had built their businesses and communities with blood, sweat and tears.
She recognized that spirited entrepreneurs are the lifeblood of West Virginia and the core of her newspaper audience. For that reason, she established the Who's Who in West Virginia Busi ness Awards program to bring attention to those people who had succeeded in building their businesses or contributing to their communities.
