The globalization of markets, increasing quality requirements and tough, faster-pace, price-sensitive competition have led to two parallel and visible quality thrusts: quality awards - the Baldrige Award in the US - and the ISO 9000 standards.
There is much confusion regarding the relationship between the Baldrige Award and ISO 9000 registration. Two common misimpressions stand out:
