If you pinned me down on the best Tex-Mex food I've ever had--and I've had a lot--I'd say it's at Leal's (LAY-als) in Monahans, Texas.

Owners David and Kelly Poynor and their staff are not innovative cooks. They simply prepare things fresh. The taco meat, tortilla chips, and salsa are made as needed, often several times a day, and there are no preservatives in the salsa.
