The Grateful Thread, a new firm that purveys hard-to-find fabrics for interior home decorating, has opened for business at 378 W. Broadway, Salt Lake City.
All fabric at the approximately 1,200 square foot shop, located within the Salt Lake Design Center, is sold on horizontally hung bolts resembling large drapery panels, said owner Carrie Snyder.
"You can buy it right off the bolt as opposed to other design centers which have only samples and then you have to order it," she said.
Among the fabrics at The Grateful Thread are textiles that originally retailed for as much as 500 per yard. Snyder said she sells them for a fraction of that cost.
