Article: ADHD med reformulated: An old drug reenters market

A supplemental NDA for Adderall, a psychostimulant made up of various amphetamine salts, has been approved by the Food & Drug Administration for the treatment of Attention Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) in children. ADHD is a condition that affects up to 3% of children and continues into adulthood in about half of those children.

According to Robert Hunt, M.D., a psychiatrist with the Center for Attention & Hyperactivity Disorders in Nashville, Tenn., the psychostimulants are the major medication treatment for inattention in ADHD.
