Bath Iron Works, Bath, Maine, $223 million contract award for the first of two planned "Flight 0" littoral combat ship vessels. The 127-meter aluminum trimaran ships will be built at AustaPs United States shipyard in Mobile, Alabama. This hull will be combined with a beam of 31.6 meters to provide the ships with superior speed, flexibility, shallow draft, payload and significant aviation capabilities. (United States Navy)
