Tacoma, Wash., resident Mike Austin developed a name for himself in the 1980s when wrenching on father Walt's highly successful Top Alcohol Funny Car driven by his brother Pat. Austin later went on to drive a Top Alcohol Dragster in which he won two national events. Another man who goes by the name of Mike Austin, a feature subject in next week's issue, came up through the Top Alcohol Dragster ranks after the former Austin had already established himself.
