Success filters through recycling firm

HUNTINGTON -- Rick Weber is glad he doesn't spend most of his day cutting open old oil filters.

Now he has hired helped to do that. He can spend his time finding new customers for a business that has grown from recycling old oil filters to include brokering waste and selling oil absorbents.

Weber's business used to be called Lee's Oil Filter Recycling, and it started in Huntington's West End about a year ago. Now the business is changing its name to Vision Technologies Inc. and has moved into larger quarters along the CSX Transportation tracks near Marshall University.

The business sells absorption products and collects nonhazardous waste and ships it elsewhere for disposal. And it still ...
