ARCADIA
Ashley Furniture Industries will invest $14 million to expand its manufacturing plant and create nearly 300 new jobs after reaching an agreement with the Department of Natural Resources that allows building on 14 acres of wetlands. As part of the agreement, Ashley Furniture will spend $750,000 in restoring about 30 acres of wetlands in the nearby French Creek watershed.
BLOOMER
The city bought 68.5 acres to expand its north side industrial park. About 30% of the land may also be devoted to residential use. A TIF district was created to help pay the $3.2 million cost.
