WELCH - McDowell County now has an online business incubator.

"The beautiful thing about it is that it's not just limited to one or two groups. It's open for every organization and citizen of McDowell County," said Rachel Lester, executive director of the county's Economic Development Authority (EDA).

The EDA and McDowell County Commission fund the site www.mcdowellbusiness.org - which launched Dec. 3 and is hosted by Dwayne Muncy of War, who owns and operates Cucumber and Co.

Besides EDA, some others involved in establishing the Web site were FACES - Family, Agencies, Children-Enhancing Services - and the McDowell County Commission, Lester said.
