Carbondale's Joann Jordan or Jo Jo the Clown, as she is more commonly known, was honored with The University of Scranton Small Business Development Center's 2005 Award for Woman Entrepreneur in October.
The award recognizes successful businesses that are at least 51 percent or more women-owned and in business for at least three years in Bradford, Bucks, Carbon, Columbia, Lackawanna, Lehigh, Luzerne, Monroe, Montgomery, Northampton, Pike, Tioga, Wayne, or Wyoming county.
Woman of Merit Awards were presented to Paula Borino of Pleasant Valley Sports Report, Brodheadsville; Danielle Fleming of Danielle & Co., Clarks Summit; and Shelley Goldberg of Shelley's Personalized Gifts, Hellertown.
