A 25-year-old Haitian woman presented to the Bascom Palmer Eye Institute emergency room with a chief complaint of pain, redness, and photophobia in her left eye for the past week. She was referred by a community ophthalmologist with a diagnosis of acute angle closure glaucoma. The patient was a poor historian, but described a sudden onset of pain 1 week earlier without any antecedent trauma.

Her medical history was significant for HlV diagnosed 1 year ago. The patient had a negative ocular history.
